SEAQUAL INITIATIVE HELPS CONSERVATION ‘GOOD TO GO!’ DUAL BENEFIT BYBUS, MORE EFFICIENT AND SUSTAINABLE HVO: The new renewable diesel at CTS REGENERATE+ The Volkswagen Group has developed a comprehensive sustainability strategy entitled Regenerate+, which is focused on four key aspects: nature, society, people and business. Regenerate+ is based on the Volkswagen Group’s vision of becoming a provider of positive mobility for the environment and society as a whole. The strategy revolves around taking responsibility, creating positive value and working together to build a better future. SEAQUAL INITIATIVE HELPS CONSERVATION The role of the circular economy in the company is also promoted through our collaboration with the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE, which combines innovation with sustainability to conserve natural marine resources and reuse materials recovered from the oceans. Thanks to this initiative, a few of our models can be equipped with this type of recycled material in door trims and seat upholstery using textile technology, which is included in the new CUPRA Leon and CUPRA Formentor, as well as in the SEAT Marina Pack packages. The new CUPRA Born bucket seats feature SEAQUAL® YARN, a recycled polymer fibre fabric produced from plastic waste collected from the Mediterranean Sea and other oceans, rivers and estuaries. ‘GOOD TO GO!’ DUAL BENEFIT The reuse of food in the canteens of our facilities, through the ‘GOOD TO GO!’ project, is another recently implemented sustainable measure. Open to all company employees at a cost of €1, the project not only helps to avoid leftovers and gives surpluses a second chance, but also donates half of the funds raised to charity. BYBUS, MORE EFFICIENT AND SUSTAINABLE Our ByBus service has been improved to make it more efficient and sustainable, in addition to optimising transport within the Martorell site according to the needs of users. Since January, on-demand cars have extended their hours (from 8 am to 8 pm) and the number of stops so that they also cover the CTS, SAT-Leasing and FGC-Renfe train station. We estimate that our ByBus service will save 73.5 tons of CO2 compared to the bus service throughout the year. The SEAT Corporate Mobility app allows you to manage your ByBus, Carsharing and Motosharing needs. HVO: The new renewable diesel at CTS In order to contribute to the decarbonisation of our internal fleet, CTS engineers have launched an initiative to replace conventional diesel fuel in our internal fleet with HVO at the CTS service station. HVO is a sustainable fuel based on organic resources that are based on organic waste and residues, such as cooking oil or agricultural waste. As HVO is produced from vegetable oils, it can deliver CO2 savings of up to 90% compared to conventional diesel fuel. This initiative is expected to save more than 200 tonnes of CO2 by 2027.
