A NEW WAY OF WORKING TRANSFORMATION IN ACTION The Technical Centre is working on developing a new generation of HMI (human-machine interface) for the infotainment system in order to improve both the interaction of drivers and passengers with their vehicles and their user experience. The project is fully aligned with the company’s strategic pillar of customer delight, whose goal is to develop a product with the customer in mind, in this case by increasing the quality and reliability of the HMI. The project is being developed according to the Agile methodology. This work strategy involves the collaboration of multidisciplinary teams that make fast and frequent deliveries of proposals and constant changes and adjustments during the process. “We are strengthening collaboration with the company’s departments, and this allows us to define the product jointly with crosscutting teams. This more flexible, non-hierarchical way of working helps us to advance feedback to earlier stages of product development through simulations and prototypes. All with customer satisfaction as a priority,” explains Anna Carsi, UX/UI SW Development Lead at SEAT S. A. A NEW WAY OF WORKING Anna Carsi, UX/UI SW Development Lead at SEAT S. A., is in charge of developing a new generation of HMI (human machine interface) for infotainment system Daniel Bueno and Guillermo Contreras are two clear examples of transformation towards electrification. Both are part of the e-House at the Prototype Development Centre (PDC), although they previously worked in other areas. Guillermo joined the team from the DKM models division, where he worked as a prototype fitter for more than 20 years. Meanwhile, Daniel joined from Matrix Maintenance (SEAT Barcelona). His transformation began with a training period and international residence in the Volkswagen Group. They subsequently joined the e-House, “an indispensable tool for our electrification,” says Daniel. “It was a great opportunity to train in the new technological disciplines required for the transformation and launch of the electric car in Martorell,” claims Guillermo. As proofers of the ABP table, they currently carry out the tasks of fine tuning and testing the operation and configuration of the electric vehicles developed at the PDC.
